The Wow Factor- this house has it! The emphasized double dormers stretch upward and create a sense of Victorian to the otherwise traditional styling of the home. And then you step inside.

It isn’t the: "short stick" light hardwood flooring of the foyer and hall, the clay influenced beige wall paint, the stark white high gloss door and molding paint, or the arched doorways, or the tray ceiling dining room with bay window wall. It’s all of those features combined to stop you in your tracks and say, "wow". Or what ever other positive expression you may want to use.

The glass front gas log fireplace has marble for the elevated hearth and surround. Walking through the living room to the rear of the home you come to an arched entry (supported by a pair of columns) to the breakfast nook and kitchen. Laminate counter tops and wall splash in a soft gray granite pattern was used for the kitchen cabinets. The soft gray was coordinated with the light gray/beige of the carpet in the other rooms. Appliances are white.

Arched doors open from the dining room to the kitchen and hall. A half bath with pedestal sink is off the short hall from the foyer to the kitchen.

Ascend to the second story to find a full bath, with shower/tub combination, located on the hall and serving two bedrooms. To the left of the stairs is the master suite.

The master bedroom ceiling vaults up and has plinths as part of the crown molding. Like many of the move-up homes being built today, the bath has a whirlpool tub and separate shower.

So caught up with the styling of the main areas of the house, I almost left without going down to the unfinished basement. Two cars and lots of stuff will fit down there. And there is plumbing stubbed in if the new owner wants to finish off the room that is not part of the garage area.

Schools for the area include: Granite Falls Elementary, Granite Falls Middle, and South Caldwell high.

Directions from Hickory: take Hwy 321 across the River Bridge and go a quarter mile passed the traffic light, use the cross over to circle left back south on Hwy 321 to turn right into Sage Meadow development. After passing the copper roofed entry house, turn left and continue a short ways to this featured home.
